Maternity care

We want to offer you the best start! Our goal is to give you an unforgettable and carefree maternity period. For us, every birth is unique. Our maternity nurse will always discuss your wishes and expectations with you on the first day that our care is started. This will also be discussed during the intake interview that will take place around 30 weeks of pregnancy.

Maternity care is normally 8 days, if medically necessary care is required, this can be extended. The maternity nurse is your support and confidant for 8 days and will teach you how to care for your child. She offers help with breastfeeding or shows you how to make bottle feeding. We also check the child and mother daily. We also ensure that household tasks are kept up to date, visitors are taken care of, and cooking can be done. With breastfeeding you are normally entitled to 49 hours spread over 8 days, and with bottle feeding 45 hours. We work with the national indication protocol.

Quality is our top priority, which is demonstrable by our certificates and quality marks. We have an HKZ certificate, WHO/Unicef Breastfeeding Certificate, Calibris recognition, plus ALL our maternity nurses are registered with the knowledge centre for maternity nurses. This knowledge centre keeps track of how many hours each maternity nurse has completed in training. This way you keep a good and demonstrable training plan, and all employees stay up to date.

Everyone with us has a valid first aid diploma for children, and takes the acute obstetrics course annually. Our high quality requirements result in good scores when asked by health insurers, which we are extremely proud of:

We provide maternity care throughout Limburg, but it is also possible to receive maternity care from us outside this region. Ask us about the possibilities.

Maternity care is unique and truly Dutch. However, we believe that everyone should get a good start and therefore also offer maternity care abroad. Wherever you live. So Belgium or America, nothing is too far for us. The healthcare costs are the costs for maternity care plus the registration costs. In the Netherlands, these costs are reimbursed by the health insurer, abroad this depends on your health insurance.

If you have insurance with a Dutch health insurer, the costs will be reimbursed. Maternity care is still unknown with foreign health insurers. The costs are often not reimbursed here. Consult the health insurer to see if they want to reimburse the costs. If you live abroad, you can also call on your employer or that of your partner for reimbursement of these costs. Dutch and foreign employers are often willing to contribute something. The costs consist of the healthcare costs and personal costs for the maternity nurse.

This does not apply if you live in a border area near Limburg. By personal costs we mean: travel costs/ticket, travel time allowance, and overnight costs. Of course, it is also possible for us to pay the costs yourself. See this especially as a good start and beginning of a beautiful and new life together!
